Hive Intelligence

A reading is just a number. Hive Intelligence is what that number means.

The Problem

A number without context isn't an answer

A single temperature reading doesn't tell a beekeeper much on its own. Is 95 degrees normal for a brood nest in June, or a sign of something wrong? Most monitoring tools hand over data and leave the interpretation to you.

Hive Intelligence

Readings, compared against what healthy looks like

Hive Intelligence is the layer of the system that turns individual sensor readings into context. It compares what's happening in your hive against known patterns of healthy colony behavior, drawn from the accumulated data of the Wingspan community, and tells you what a reading likely means, not just what it is.

How It Works

Pattern recognition

Weight drops, temperature spikes, and humidity shifts are compared against known signals for swarming, queen loss, or stress.

Community-informed baselines

The more hives contribute data, the sharper the baseline gets for every beekeeper using the system.

Plain answers, not raw charts

Insight is delivered as a clear read on colony status, with the underlying data available if you want to dig deeper.

Common Questions

None of this replaces the beekeeper's judgment. Hive Intelligence is built to narrow down what deserves your attention, not to make the decision for you. The bees, and the beekeeper standing in front of them, still know things a sensor can't measure.
